DuPont to spin-off performance chemicals arm

DuPont announced last week that it is to spin-off its performance chemicals segment to shareholders.
The separation, which includes the titanium technologies and chemicals & fluoroproducts businesses, is expected to be completed within 18 months upon the finalising of customary closing conditions.

DuPont chairman and CEO Ellen Kullman said: “Following a thorough strategic review process over the last year, the spin-off of Performance Chemicals is clearly the best option to deliver enhanced value for our shareholders.”
The performance chemicals arm will operate as a 100% shareholder-owned independent company once the spin-off has been finalised.
DuPont has stated that releasing its performance chemicals will allow the company to focus on science-driven growth in the biology, chemistry and materials science sectors.
