Former NEPIC chief among NY Honours List recipients

Former North East of England Process Industry Cluster CEO Dr Stan Higgins is among the leading figures in the process industries and science included in the 2018 New Year Honours list.
Higgins, a driving force for many years behind the development of the chemical sector on Teesside and in the UK, received an OBE for his work.
“I am delighted to receive this unexpected honour. I recognise that it is an accolade reached by standing on the shoulders of many mentors and colleagues that have encouraged me throughout my 48 years in the industry,” he stated.
Higgins paid tribute to the mentors who had guided his career as well as former colleagues in NEPIC.

He continued: “And there are the professors and tutors at York University who made chemistry come to life for me. I am grateful to all of them for their support and guidance throughout my career.”
Higgins is now a non-executive director at ITS Ltd, whose CEO Malcolm Knott added his congratulations.
“I am sure I speak for all the staff at ITS and colleagues of Dr Higgins throughout the UK process industry when I say I cannot think of anyone who deserves this more than Stan. Well done.”
