Pigging ‘seriously increases product yields’ for soft drinks manufacturer
14 Aug 2018
Product recovery system specialists HPS has released a new case study that shows how ‘pigging’ is saving one of its clients approximately US$31,500 worth of product every day.
The case study illustrates how a leading soft drinks manufacturer uses pigging to seriously increase product yields, reduce waste and improve operating efficiency.
While pigging will not always save as much as this particular HPS client is saving, the financial returns, as well as environmental and operational benefits are nearly always significant, says the company.
For just about every company that pumps liquid product, pigging delivers high return on investment and rapid payback – usually within a few weeks or months.
As well as being in wide use in the beverage industry, pigging systems are also used by companies that process foods, personal care products, cosmetics, pet food, homecare, paint and coatings and many other liquids.
Pigging refers to the specialist technology that recovers product from the inside of pipelines and prevents it from going to waste.
