Newly Weds Foods opts for Mainsaver CMMS

Corby, UK – Newly Weds Foods has selected Mainsaver CMMS (computerised maintenance management software) to help improve its plant asset care across four European production sites.
The four sites - at Corby, Banbury and Ossett in the UK and at Helmond in the Netherlands - produce a comprehensive range of batters, breadings and seasonings. These ingredients are used by food producers to create new products for the retail and foodservice markets. The CMMS project was prompted by a requirement for consistent management information across the four factories.
“We had a number of separate systems in place, each recording a different aspect of maintenance” he explains “which made it difficult to get a clear overall picture of how we were performing,” explains senior engineering manager Steve Evans.
“When Mainsaver is installed at all four sites we [expect to] have access to consistent, meaningful management data that we can use to improve.” he added.
Evans see two immediate areas in which improvements are being anticipated following Mainsaver’s introduction: increase the amount of planned, proactive maintenance and better inventory management by analysing spares usage data from the CMMS.
Mainsaver distributor and support provider for the EMEA region, Spidex Software will be providing technical, training and implementation assistance, as well as ongoing helpdesk services for the project. User training and site implementations are set to start in early 2012.
