8 May 2012
Helsinki – AGE ENERJ? Yat?r?mlar? A?, one of Turkey’s major energy companies has engaged Metso to automate a greenfield combined-cycle power plant in Denizli, Turkey. The 206MW greenfield power plant fuelled by natural gas is due to start up by the end of 2012.
After completion of the new plant in Denizli, the company’s total electricity production capacity will amount to 295MW in 2013. AGE ENERJI’ s future target in production is to reach 700MW by 2016.
The Denizli project is linked to new electricity market regulation in Turkey, which is encouraging the private sector to invest in the country’s energy sector.
Metso’s delivery scope consists of a high-tech Metso DNA automation system with which the power plant will be controlled. All communication, controllers and I/O modules are redundant to ensure high system availability.
The Metso DNA user interface supports intuitive navigation and provides a practically unlimited number of scalable process graphics with pop-up windows, loop-specific detailed operation windows and dynamic loop-specific interlock windows.
The system interface is bilingual - Turkish and English. Metso DNA supports a multi-lingual user interface in which any pre-defined language can be selected from the pull-down menu by the operator.
The delivery also includes an integrated Metso DNA information management system featuring advanced web-based solutions. The delivery will take place at the beginning of August.
AGE ENERJ? is part of AGE Group, which is involved in the infrastructure, superstructure and energy sectors. The Ankara-based group has net sales of about $150 million.
