Software cuts Dutch energy usage

Cambridge UK – The Dutch ministry of transport and water works is employing an eSight energy management suite to achieve a 20% saving in energy – as required by its governement.
To accomplish the target, the Dutch government had several requirements for energy management software, including a hardware-agnostic system so as to be compatible with existing devices.
Another requirement was to find an energy management software that allows collection of consumption data from all grid and metering companies in the Netherlands.
As the ministry is dealing with large amounts of data a software that is intuitive and allows easy management of huge quantities of data was necessary.
The Netherlands has recently started a complete roll out of smart meters, which is performed by the regional grid operators.
For this project, data from all these grid companies and metering companies needed to be imported into eSight, which is now occurring fully automatically on a daily basis.
The Dutch government was already working with an online database that held all technical data for each meter. As eSight is also web-based, the integration of the two tools could be done quickly and seamlessly, claims the supplier. The entire project, it added, was carried out in three months.
