TUFNOL SECURES ITS HIGH FLYING CREDENTIALS WITH AS9100 REV C ACCREDITATION
20 Feb 2013
‘Leading UK manufacturer of laminates, composites and engineering plastics, Tufnol Composites, has been successfully re-certified for tough Aerospace Industry standard AS 9100 Revision C.’
Tufnol Composites - a leading UK manufacturer, machinist and stockist of high performance laminates, composites and engineering plastics - has reaffirmed its position as a top supplier to the aerospace industry by securing AS 9100 Revision C accreditation for the second time around.
The industry standard for Aerospace, Defense and Space, Revision C is one of the most challenging standards to achieve. It ensures that customers within this high risk industry receive products produced to offer the utmost levels of reliability and durability.
Tufnol Managing Director, Roy Thomason, said: “This accreditation proves our continued dedication and expertise in providing products and materials of the highest performance and quality.
“It is a very tough standard to achieve, but then maintaining it is perhaps the hardest part of it. To have managed to do that and successfully undergo a re-audit a year on is a significant achievement for Tufnol, and in fact any other business working within our field.
“The UK’s aerospace sector is the second largest in the world, and is increasingly using composite materials to build lighter, better performing aircraft. Our AS9100 Rev C accreditation is vital to ensuring we remain at the top of its supply chain.”
First tier supplier to aviation giant Airbus, the Birmingham and East Kilbride based business has been ahead of its market since 2006 when it first achieved AS 9100 certification, becoming one of only a limited number of organisations to have been awarded the quality management standard.
