Manufacturers and process plant owners that tighten up their use of heat, light and power benefit from lower bills, tax cuts and reputational gain.
It is plain to see that the easiest way to significantly cut energy bills in a process plant is to replace ageing equipment with modern energy efficient technology.
However, in a sector such as food and drink processing where the bulk of the market is made up by small to medium sized manufacturers, such changes can often come with price tags so hefty that, even if significant reductions in energy usage delivered a return on investment in less than a year, some companies might lack the funds to make the investment in the first place.
