Investment in Abis leads to the launch of its toolbox for managing oil & gas projects.
Oil and gas industry expert, Francis Kiernan, has acquired an interest in Abis Projects, an Aberdeen-based project management consultancy – leading to the development of the company’s management “toolbox”.
The Abis Projects toolbox is essentially a framework for the structuring of projects, with a set of proprietary reporting tools across the oil and gas and the emergent renewables industries.
The toolbox has a number of mechanisms that will enable better planning, management and reporting on costs, time and resources relating to projects, Abis claims.
The step-by-step system removes the need for high-cost project management software systems and can reduce resource and time costs.
The toolbox also enables users to draft and populate project execution plans, project schedules, basic reporting systems and exception reporting systems and have, for example, been used by energy companies in a real time SAP environment.
“There is a real need within the energy industry for support in the managing of projects. At Abis Projects we can provide a flexible and tailored service that enables oil and gas companies to focus on what they specialise in and leave the project administration to us,” Kiernan said.
