Silo design best practice for bulk materials
22 Apr 2015
The costs associated with commissioning overruns or troubleshooting poor plant performance are recognised by all parties involved in the procurement and operational aspects of process plants as being highly undesirable.
Problems can be the direct result of either poorly formulated plant specification by the end users or a misapplication of best design practice for bulk materials that fall outside of the ‘easy to handle’ envelope of behaviour.
In either case, the end result can be budget overruns and strained relationships between project management, equipment manufacturers, installers and end users.
Experts at the Wolfson Centre for Bulk Solids Handling Technology have developed a two-day short course to help target the design information requirements for those involved in minimising project risk through the supply chain.
The course runs from 12-13 May, with full details available here: www.bulksolids.com
