SPX Flow has signed a joint venture agreement with the WTE Wajdi Group Group to service all rotating and static equipment for oil and gas, industrial and power customers in Iraq.
The venture, titled SPX Flow & WTE Energy Industrial Services FZCO, will be based in Dubai with a subsidiary in the North Rumalia oil field in southern Iraq.
A 1,000 sq m fully-equipped workshop within the Rumalia concession has access to Iraq’s ‘super giant’ oil fields – Zubair, Majnoon, Rumalia, West Quarna, Garraf and Missan, as well as Basra and Baghdad refineries and power stations.
The company will provide field services, site surveys, workshop overhauls and maintenance services for all manufacturers of rotating equipment, including centrifugal, reciprocating and metering pumps, as well as mixers.
In addition, it will serve as a resource to support new equipment and spares supply activities of SPX Flow’s team and channel partner who will continue to focus on these projects in region.
Falah Wajdi, owner of the WTE Wajdi Group, described the venture as "a significant step towards our vision of delivering a world class service locally".
"The new service centre located within WTE’s North Rumaila compound will provide the installed base around the country with a key hub for vital services for all types of rotating and static equipment, regardless of the original equipment manufacturer.
"We very much look forward to collaborating closely with SPX Flow to service customers in the region.”
