Blackburn-based Assystem, now the world’s third largest nuclear engineering organisation has acquired the French company ASCO.
The purchase will significantly boost Assytem’s standing as a project management force in France, where ASCO is widely known for scheduling and coordinating nuclear power plant outages, project management and integrating project management information systems.
ASCO has 300 employees and generates more than €20 million in annual revenue, half of which derives from scheduling and coordinating nuclear power plant outages, with the remainder divided between project management and integrating project management information systems.
After the acquisition, the annual revenue generated by the Group's Project Management business is close to €50 million and it now employs over 600 people. Three years ago, its annual revenue was just €5 million.
