GEMÜ 490 series lined butterfly valves are produced with a moulded PFA/TFM body liner.
This is particularly useful where corrosive liquids and vapours are being handled, such as effluent, sludge or corrosive chemicals.
In a successful application, a wastewater treatment plant using incineration to convert sludge into energy, opted for the GEMÜ 490 to be employed in the sludge drying step.
Not only is the GEMÜ 490 highly resistant to the substances contained in the vapour, but the valves will also be undamaged due to errors, causing the system to reach very high temperatures in excess of 100°C.
As a result, the plant had optimised the vapour condensation to process a higher quantity of sludge, with improved safety in the system and minimised unpleasant odours.
