Silverson Machines is launching new mixer variants at this year's CHEMUK show. These models complement the different types of laboratory and production models already available from Silverson and offer customers more options in terms of batch sizes and processing requirements.
Each of these new mixers is available with IP-rated motors and as a flameproof model, making them suitable for many applications that cannot be carried out with standard laboratory mixers.
The new FMX10 small-scale powder/liquid mixer bridges the gap between the laboratory scale FMX5 and the larger Flashmix product range, ideal for batch sizes of up to 50 litres, depending on viscosity. The mixer offers proven performance on a wide range of powders, and can process higher viscosity mixes due to its pumping rotor design.
A stainless steel powder feed hopper which has a five litre capacity is supplied as standard, with different hopper designs available to assist with the flow of more cohesive powders. This mixer also gives customers the option of a high speed motor, capable of 9,000 rpm, and flameproof specification makes this model even more versatile.
For manufacturing higher viscosity products, Silverson is launching the UHS-HV, a small-scale in-line mixer which matches the capabilities of the production scale Silverson HV in-line mixers. High flow rates – typically around 6,500 litres/hour – are maintained as viscosity rises, often eliminating the need for an additional feed pump when processing many higher viscosity products.
Also being launched are the 150 and 200 UHS in-lines. These new small-scale in-lines are built to the same high specification as production scale UHS mixers. Ideal for batches of up to 50 litres, they have been designed for ultra hygienic applications where the smallest production scale mixers may be too large, but laboratory equipment doesn’t offer sufficient capacity.
