Recycling for Roy
5 Jan 2005
If Santa brought you a new mobile phone for Christmas, you can now put your old one to good use by recycling it to raise funds for charity.
That's all thanks to a company that calls itself Eurosource. This outfit will take your old phone and then refurbish and resell it, with a substantial portion of the proceeds going to charitable organisations.
All you, as the donor, have to do is choose which charity you want the folks at Eurosource to donate the money to - the Marie Curie Cancer Care, the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, the Royal National Institute of the Blind, the Children's Hospice Association Scotland or Northern Ireland Hospice Care.
But it's not just mobile phones! Oh no. There's another product which can also be recycled for money - empty printer cartridges. These too can raise much-needed cash. So if you work in an office or have a printer at home, you too have the potential to boost the funds of your favourite charity.
So if you have a mobile phone or printer cartridge to donate, simply call 08712 50 50 50 or click <link>here=http://www.recyclingappeal.com</link>, stating which of the five charities you'd like to support, and ask for a FREEPOST envelope. Then when it arrives, all you have to do is pop your old product in it and mail it off.
If your workplace uses company mobiles or printer cartridges, you can also ask to make regular donations. And if you become a regular donor, Eurosource can set up an account which allows you to support any charity you want, including local causes.
A very environmentally friendly way to start the New Year.
