Rhodia sells its membranes
3 Nov 2004
Only a few days after announcing its intention to merge with Dynamic Synthesis, the French Novasep Group has reached an agreement with Rhodia to acquire its Orelis subsidiary.
A manufacturer of organic and inorganic membranes, Orelis also provides services to assist with the design and installation of membrane-based filtration systems and equipment.
The company - which generated net sales of 20 million Euros in 2003 and employs a staff of 90 people - mainly serves customers active in the pharmaceutical, biotech, agro-food, automotive, and environmental protection markets.
Last month, Novasep announced that it was to merge with Dynamic Synthesis, forming a new standalone company that will bring to market Novasep's proprietary separation technologies and Dynamic Synthesis' fine chemicals expertise.
The newly formed company will adopt the Novasep name and will be headquartered in Pompey, France. Roger-Marc Nicoud, founder and CEO of Novasep, will assume the role of President and CEO of the combined company, while Rockwood, the parent of Dynamic Synthesis, will be a majority shareholder.
