Euros in the boilers
25 May 2004
Alstom has been awarded a 50 million Euro contract to provide a new steam generating boiler plant for chemical manufacturer INEOS Chlor.
The new plant will form part of a planned 565 million Euro investment at the company's Runcorn site in Cheshire, which is the second largest chlorine production facility in Europe.
While the project will be engineered and managed from the Alstom office in Cheshire, the boilers will be designed and manufactured at Alstom's manufacturing facility in Brno, Czech Republic.
Detailed engineering work for the design of boiler plant, steam and water production and distribution began in January 2004, following an initial engineering and optimisation study undertaken by the two companies.
The new boiler plant is scheduled to be operational at the end of 2005.
