A mix of mixers and blenders

The Hydromax mixer offers an alternative to true high-shear mixing in a number of cases. Its innovative design features a complete set of interchangeable rotor screens.
In operation, the high speed rotation of the pumping elements at the top and bottom of the Closed Rotor forces the product into a mixing zone, where it is subjected to intense hydraulic shear.
Centrifugal force and internal pressure drives the materials out through the holes in the rotor screen, projecting them at high speed back into the slower moving body of the mix, further subjecting them to powerful hydraulic shear forces. Simultaneously, fresh materials enter the mixing zone, maintaining the mixing cycle.
Offering full compliance with 3A, USDA, and GMP requirements, the new design is claimed to have very low maintenance requirements since there are no wearing parts or bushings in the Closed Rotor assembly.
