CONTROL BRIEFS
15 Jan 2000
Fisher-Rosemount Systems has introduced Version 2.2 of its DeltaV process control and automation system. The system database has been doubled, as has the number of controllers and operator stations that can be connected to the network. DeltaV is a 'native' 32-bit NT system and part of F-R's PlantWeb field-based architecture.
Rockwell boosts integrators
Rockwell Automation's new 'UK Solutions Provider Programme' has created two new categories of systems integrators Systems Associate and Systems Partner. The top grade of Partner currently has two members and Rockwell anticipates no more than five for the whole of the UK.
Real-time control on the web
With BVM's IntraScada Web Server you can monitor and control plant processes using any standard simple web browser running on any platform. Real-time processes can be interrogated and controlled over an intranet or the Internet.
Catastrophe prevention
Now standard on Cegelec's Alspa GD3000E drive is load fault detection software that can help maintenance engineers pre-empt catastrophic failure. The ideal load profile is established during commissioning of the drive and any subsequent deviation from this can be programmed to trigger a variety of warnings and remedial actions.
Weightier PLCs
By supplying loss-in-weight continuous or batching control systems in standard PLC format, Rospen Industries claims to make significant savings. If, for example, a customer wants to embed Rospen's software into Allen Bradley's PLCs, then interfaces are agreed and existing standard PLC options reconfigured.
