Sandvik shows off its pastillation prowess
15 Jan 2000
On stand F2/G5 in Hall 4, Sandvik Process Systems is demonstrating enhancements to its well-known Rotoform pastillating process. These improvements double capacity of the process and enable viscous products such as caprolactam, sulphur, paraffins and waxes to be handled.
The Rotoform technology is now said to set new environmental standards in dust-free production, no water contamination and clean exhaust air. With a pastillating range from 40mm down to micropastilles of 1mm in diameter, the Rotoform's capability includes melts in the high viscosity range from 1-200 000cP.
Also on display is Sandvik's sheet casting system. This allows handling of high integrity products such as synthetic marble and filter foils. Combined with Sandvik's steel belt technology, the production of synthetic marble results in the highest standards of surface finish and accuracy.
A system for the production of ultra-thin filter membranes used in blood tests is another example on show of Sandvik's capabilities.
