New team at Beaver Valley
Haydn Jones, Jack Courtman, Desmond Mottram and Steve Hewitt are to take charge of sales, project management, support, training and consultancy capabilities at Beaver Valley Systems. The shake-up results from the growth in demand for plant information software and related services, comments the company's managing director, David Barr.

Brighton-based process control specialist West Instruments has appointed Robert Jelski as managing director. He was previously with Eurotherm, where he set up the company's French division.
* Ellwood wins Filtra marketing post
Detroit-based Filtra Systems has appointed a UK consultant, Ron Ellwood, to market its Hydromation deep bed filter in Europe.
* Harwood takes control of Allison
Simon Harwood has been named managing director of process control and instrumentation company Allison Engineering. He was previously sales director.
* Firth analyses international market
Gas analysis specialist Servomex International has appointed Stephen Firth to the post of international sales director.
* Brotherhood apprentice becomes md
Ian Arbon has been named managing director of compressor manufacturer Peter Brotherhood, 22 years after completing an apprenticeship there. Previously, he ran his own consultancy in Scotland.
* A burning issue at Hamworthy
Bob Wilcox is to take on the role of business development manager for Hamworthy Combustion Engineeing, covering India, China, Russia, Poland and the Pacific Rim.

BP Chemicals boosts its board
Chris Gibson-Smith, chief operating officer of BP Chemicals, and Richard Oliver, deputy chief executive of BP Exploration, are to become managing directors of BP Chemicals. They replace Russell Seal and Rolf Stomberg, who are to retire.
* Hot stuff for Courtaulds' Thornton
Courtaulds has appointed Doug Thornton as general manager for the company's flame retardants business, based in Derby.
* Resins to be cheerful at Zeneca
Elizabeth Armstrong is to succeed Stuart Palmer as worldwide general manager for Zeneca's resins business. Palmer is to retire, after almost 30 years with the company.
* Millin around with Moore at Eutech
Eutech, the engineering consultancy subsidiary of ICI, has appointed John Millin to take charge of its product and resource development. He was previously with Coopers & Lybrand, as was another new recruit, Andrew Moore, who is to head up a manufacturing business improvement division, reporting to Millin.

Jeremy Beaton has been named executive director of the process engineering and services division of Haden MacLellan. He will be in charge of a range of businesses which specialise in paint finishing, materials handling and environmental control systems.

Kvaerner John Brown has named Neil Hallett as vice-president for construction in the Asia Pacific region.

Graham Rutherford has been appointed chairman of Stone & Webster Engineering, 33 years after first joining the company as an area sales manager.
