Raytek's Marathon FR sensor is designed specifically to measure the temperature of objects obscured by smoke, dust or steam.
Intended for high-temperature applications, the two-colour sensors operate in the 500 degree - 2500 degree C range.
Also in the high-temperature range is the Marathon FA one-colour sensor, rated for temperatures from 475 degrees C to 3000 degrees C. Both sensors consist of fibre optic cabling and a sensor head rated to 315 degrees C, allowing them to operate reliably without the need for water cooling.
Multiple sensors can be installed along a single production line, such as in a glass or metals production facility, in a multiple drop configuration, controllable from a PC.
