Going for the ozone
24 Mar 2003
Wedeco, a manufacturer of chemical-free water purification systems using ultraviolet light and ozone, has acquired Trailigaz Ozone - the third largest ozone water treatment technology company in the world - from the Paris-based Vivendi Water Systems Group.
Trailigaz Ozone generates annual sales of approximately 12 million Euros. The company has an installed base of more than 5,000 ozone water treatment systems worldwide, including systems in Paris, London, Madrid, Prague, Moscow, Tokyo, Sydney, San Francisco and Singapore.
Its production facilities are located in Paris, and it has a service business in the US.
Trailigaz Ozone - which will continue to be headquartered in Paris - will become part of Wedeco Gesellschaft für Umwelttechnologie, a subsidiary of the Wedeco Group.
For its part, Vivendi Water Systems has obtained a 15.2% interest in the Wedeco ozone subsidiary.
The agreement is expected to become effective at the end of April 2003.
