30 Apr 2003
Aker Kvaerner's Pulp business has signed a 100 million Euro contract to supply equipment and engineering services for a new greenfield pulp mill in China.
Kvaerner Pulping is to supply a complete fibreline rated at 3000 tons/day, making it the largest single-line fibreline in the world.
The fibreline will include washing and bleaching equipment and Kvaerner's Compact Cooking technology, which makes it possible for pulp suppliers to optimise pulp properties to meet paper mill specifications
The design and manufacture of proprietary equipment and project management services will be supplied from Karlstad, Sweden.
Aker Kvaerner is working with the unnamed Chinese client to finalise the schedule and the financing for a RECOX recovery boiler rated at 5000 tons dry solids/day, which will also be the largest unit in the world.
