Online stewardship guide launched
7 Nov 2000
The Chemical Industries Association has launched an online product stewardship guide to provide information for small-to-medium sized companies. Called PS GO (product stewardship online guide), the guide 'focuses on what needs to be done and, more importantly, how to do it.'
The guide, which will be available both on the CIA's extranet and as a hypertext-enabled CD-Rom, provides information on the safety, health and environmental aspects of handling, supplying and distributing chemical products. Designed for beginners and experts, it aims to help firms comply with regulations in the most cost-effective way possible. PS GO will cost £100 to access in either form (£300 to non-CIA members), although a 50 per cent discount is available until the end of March.
The publication is part of the CIA's 'Confidence in Chemicals' programme, part of a series of moves to improve the standing of the chemical industry. The programme includes the Long Range Research Initiative, which gathers risk assessment data for the most important chemicals produced and used by the industry.
