Buying DVB

The Dow Chemical Company has reached an agreement to acquire the divinylbenzene (DVB) business from Total Petrochemicals for an undisclosed sum. But the deal does not include Total's manufacturing assets.
Divinylbenzene (DVB) is a versatile cross-linking agent that also improves polymer properties. It is a mixture of isomers of divinylbenzene and ethylvinylbenzene.
DVB can be used to modify many polymers that have found utility in adhesives, ion exchange resins, specialty plastics, elastomers, and other applications.
The transaction still remains subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
