Invensys wins Sinopec maintenance deal

London -- Invensys Process Systems has won a long-term maintenance contract with Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical Company Ltd. (SPC), part of China Petroleum and Chemical Corp. (Sinopec), Invensys plc announced 8 March.

Under the contract, Shanghai-based Invensys Process Systems China is to provide support services to SPC’s oil refining, chemicals and polyester business units. The deal, which covers Invensys’ Foxboro range of I/A Series control systems, is the first of its kind between SPC and an automation vendor, said the London-headquartered group.

The support will encompass remote and on-site services including online patrol site device checks, annual on-site device checks, emergency hardware replacement, emergency/routine hardware repairs, emergency technical support and site training.

SPC, part of China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation (Sinopec), is one of China's largest producers of refined oil products, intermediate petrochemicals, plastics, resins and synthetic fibres.
