Falmouth, UK — Peristaltic pump maker Watson-Marlow Bredel (WMB) has announced the start up of a manufacturing operation at an unspecified location in China. The unit, it said, will complement the firm’s existing facilities in the UK, Holland and Sweden.
The Chinese facility will manufacture pumps to specific requirements of customers in the chemicals, pharma, food, water and other industries, according to a 16 March company announcement.
“This addition to our manufacturing capability is geared to meet the needs of OEM customers requiring volumes in excess of 15,000 pumps per month,” said Rob Mead, WMB’s European OEM business development manager.
“We are now in the unique position of being able to offer precision, high quality customised peristaltic pumps, cost effectively and at very high volume - something that has not previously been possible,” added Mead.
