New IChemE president

London -- Greg Lewin, president of Shell Global Solutions International bv,has succeeded John Archer as president of the IChemE (Institution of
Chemical Engineers). The handover took place 5 May during the Institution's Annual General Meeting in Billingham, Teesside.
In his address, Lewin called for the profession to embrace greater interdisciplinary and social collaborations, and to engage in a broader public conversation to highlight the positive contributions of chemical and process engineering.
"Chemical engineering is a profession without boundaries and has huge potential. Mankind faces a daunting array of economic, social and environmental challenges. Chemical engineers are capable of delivering solutions to many of these challenges, " he stated.
