Atlas Copco: Class 0 “world first”

Antwerp, Belgium,— Atlas Copco’s Oil-free Air division is claiming a world first with the TÜV (German Technical Monitoring Association) certification of its Z series oil-free rotary screw air compressors is the first in the world to ISO 8573-1 Class 0.
The classification means the products are certified to ‘effectively eliminate’ risk of any contamination by oil in a range of applications, according to Atlas Copco. These, it said, include food and beverage processing, pharmaceuticals manufacturing and packaging, electronics manufacturing and powder coating.

“constitute the best choice when it comes to managing risks,” claimed Luc Hendrickx, president of Atlas Copco’s Oil-free Air division, in a 15 June press statement.
