Micro Motion, part of Emerson Process Management, has unveiled a technology that provides in-situ assessment of the calibration and condition of its Elite brand Coriolis flowmeters.
The "self-verification technology" is designed to reduce meter validation efforts and costs — including the need to stop the process — and enables predictive maintenance that addresses issues such as erosion, cracking, pitting or coating within the meter, the company said.
Yokogawa has introduced a portable field device engineering and maintenance software tool for the configuration and maintenance of intelligent field devices at, it claims, much lower cost than alternative hardware solutions.
The tool, called FieldMate Advance, uses open interface Field Device Tool (FDT) technology to facilitate the configuration and adjustment of field devices such as sensors and valves at production sites. It works regardless of the manufacturer or the communication protocols, according to Martin Ward, managing director of Yokogawa UK.
Avantis, part of Invensys Process Systems, has introduced a new intelligent real-time condition monitoring and management solution. The Invensys Condition Monitoring (CM) version 2.1 solution integrates with many new data sources and systems to provide even more effective early detection and analysis of impending equipment failures, the company claims.
"Invensys CM provides a predictive early warning system that allows organisations to move from a reactive environment to a proactive environment where they can effectively predict and prevent problems before they occur to be able to focus resources on improving asset performance," said Neil Cooper, general manager of the Avantis unit of Invensys Process Systems.
