BLM Joint Simulator Bench available from Atlas Copco Tools
3 Oct 2006
Atlas Copco Tools, a leading manufacturer of ergonomically designed industrial power tools, has recently introduced the BLM Joint Simulator Bench, a versatile simulation device designed to test nutrunners reproducing any joint stiffness.
The BLM 3860 test bench is ideal for controlling nutrunners and torque wrenches, as well as pulse tools, which can be tested on the static transducer. The hydraulic brakes simulate the behaviour of a real joint, reproducing the stiffness from hard to soft, which allows the nutrunner to be tested in accordance with the new DI-VDE 2647. In addition Cm/Cmk can be tested quickly and easily in real conditions without the need to run tests on the product on the line.
The Bench is fully mobile, ensuring no need to remove the socket from the tool, as it comes complete with a set of adapters allowing the nutrunner to be tested as it is used on the line. The patented design of the hydraulic brakes, the valves and the oil pressure accumulator ensure very little power consumption. In addition, the battery charge lasts for over 16 hours, sufficient to operate over two shifts.
