Flow meter can measure mass, density, temperature and viscosity and allows direct inline viscosity measurement
Manchester, UK – Endress + Hauser has developed a Coriolis flow meter, which is designed to offer inline viscosity measurement and eliminate process interruptions and the need for additional instrumentation.
According to the company, the device, called Promass I, can measure mass, density, temperature and viscosity and allows direct inline measurement of the apparent viscosity of a liquid. The unit is being targeted particularly at applications, such as tomato sauce production, where viscosity relates to product quality.
The device can also be used for monitoring viscosity trends to detect product change and provides early warning of any potential process failures, the company added.
