Backing Beijing
5 Dec 2006
Home to 15 million people, Beijing is the capital and the 2nd largest city in China, after Shanghai. It also plays host to the 2008 Olympics and is the location for 31 of the 36 venues.
As with recent Olympic and World Cup venues, Grundfos Pumps are proving to be an important partner to a range of consultants and contractors in China, by providing both their expertise as well as a wide range of pumps and pumping solutions to many of the sites that have already been completed or are currently under construction.
With their impressive track record at Athens and Turin where Grundfos provided in excess of 66% of the total pumping requirements to each venue, many of the newly completed sites in Beijing are already benefiting from a range of Grundfos solutions. These include booster sets and pumps providing cooling and air-conditioning; hot water services, liquid transfer, as well as water supply and wastewater.
Approximately 10,500 athletes are due to compete at these games and reporting on every aspect of the 28 sports will be a global media core of 20,000. In addition there will be a myriad of team coaches, managers, medical staff, security personnel and of course spectators.
Grundfos will also be in attendance, providing the pump systems solution to where it is needed, when it is needed.
