New Rocol Aerospec Protect Helps To Prevent Aircraft Corrosion

AEROSPEC PROTECT delivers a dry, non-flammable waxy coating which offers excellent chemical resistance to fuels, oils and numerous other contaminants and it prevents build up of dirt and particulates. The product has been successfully trialled by an airline operator and has been approved by Airbus for optional application to landing gear during routine service and maintenance to help provide additional protection from corrosion in extreme operating conditions.
A vital addition to the established ROCOL AEROSPEC range, AEROSPEC PROTECT offers excellent performance characteristics designed to cope with the demanding temperature extremes that aircraft must endure. Its protective coating does not soften or slump at high temperatures and it has been proven to eliminate pitting and galvanic corrosion caused by chemical contamination from common sources such as de-icing fluids.
Mark Parsons, who heads the Aerospace team at ROCOL says, “We have worked extensively with the aircraft industry for many years and have well established relationships with major manufacturers like Airbus. We frequently work with manufacturers to develop detailed specifications for new aircraft, but we also have the expertise to develop formulations to address issues which arise during testing.”

AEROSPEC PROTECT is the latest addition to the comprehensive ROCOL range for the aerospace and defence industries. Its development follows the success of other specialist lubricants for aircraft manufacturers recently, including a lithium based airframe grease for the Airbus A380.
