Energy Saving and Clean Steam training from Spirax Sarco

Two essential training courses from Spirax Sarco in 2007, aim to help organisations with steam systems to improve their performance.
The new one-day course, Boosting the Bottom Line, is aimed at all steam users and helps identify opportunities to make energy savings throughout the steam system. The focus is on energy efficient solutions and their justification.
The course covers:
· Establishing the cost of steam
· The effects of getting water treatment wrong
· Saving energy in the boiler house
· Optimising the steam system
· Estimating the energy requirements of a plant
· Identifying and quantifying savings
· Relating fuel savings to carbon and CO2
· Calculating a pay back period for savings
Course dates for the energy savings course are 1st March, 12th June, 11th September and 7th November 2007
Meanwhile the one-day course, Design of Clean Steam Systems, covers the design, implementation and operation of clean steam systems. The course will benefit designers, plant engineers, maintenance staff and sterilisation staff in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food and healthcare sectors.
The course covers:
· The fundamentals of steam
· Feedwater treatment
· Steam generation
· Types of ‘clean’ steam
· Design of distribution systems
· Steam trapping and air venting practise
· Selection and application of products
Course dates for the clean steam course are 18th May and 11th October
