Gravatom will design, manufacture and supply a range of equipment for nuclear decommissioning at the Sellafield site after winning a £1.3m contract fromACKtiv Nuclear. The equipment, for the safe removal ofskips containing waste, will be designed at the company’s sites in Bishop’sWaltham, Hampshire andWorkington,West Cumbria, manufactured in Hampshire and assembled and tested inWorkington. It includes a skip bogie with drive, skip hoist and grapple, lid lift and pintle grab, and a flask bogie and recovery system prior to flask emptying.
