The high purity of Azote thermoplastic foams makes them MRI, CT and X-Ray lucent, which has seen their use for cervical collars for some time, but now there is increasing use in a variety of ‘high tech’ medical applications. One is for the encapsulation of specialist electronics circuitry associated with the imaging systems used in medical diagnoses. The regular cell structure and crosslinking of Azote enables it to be thermoformed very successfully and in this instance to be laminated securely.
