Frankfurt, Germany – Yokogawa Electric Corp. is to distribute and service process analytical instrumentation from SICK, under a global agreement between the two suppliers. The deal, announced at Achema, extends a distribution agreement, which has covered the companies’ portfolios in Europe since 2009.
The collaboration, which combines SICK’s analytical product offering with Yokogawa’s expertise in process analytical applications and system integration, has been well received in the market, said Seizo Nakamura, Yokogawa’s business development manager, analytical products division.
“The agreement has improved Yokogawa’s ability to provide turnkey process and environmental automation solutions for process industries from a single supplier,” said Nakamura.
The collaboration with Yokogawa has allowed SICK to broaden their market position as a solution provider in process analytics, added Dr. Michael Markus, head of marketing and sales of SICK’s analyser division.
Dr. Norbert Zeug, previously staff member of Yokogawa in Europe and since March 2012 in charge as strategic industry manager chemical & HPI at SICK has been nominated as the liaison manager of the co-operation.
