To compliment this range, the company will also exhibit the Matrix high specification applicator that is used for exacting applications and due to its small size is very suitable for mounting onto flow wrap machines to apply labels onto the film rather than onto the pack where this is not possible. Köra-Packmat leaflet and booklet feeders will also be on show including the entry level EasyFeeder and the high spec AdvancedFeeder.
AMS Ltd - Stand H50
AMS is the UK’s leading independent supplier of desktop colour label printers, offering solutions from top global manufacturers. Although primarily specialising in mailing equipment, AMS has quickly expanded into the label and packaging market since it introduced its first desktop, short-run digital colour label printer in 2011, the latest of which will be launched at the PPMA show.
Colour label printing has become an integral part of many businesses’ in-house packaging production process and with new technology such as large colour touchscreen interfaces and high quality Memjet® print heads, customers and dealers alike can’t recommend AMS enough. The company’s growing range of packaging equipment also includes shrink-wrapping and poly-bagging for lower volume users.
ASCO Numatics - Stand B50
Centrepiece of the ASCO Numatics display at the PPMA show, will be a purpose built, operational display that mimics a bottling line. This demonstrates ASCO’s range of fluid control products, including its aseptic and general purpose valves. The valves will be controlled by the innovative G3 fieldbus valve island. A second display, created by ASCO customer MPE, will demonstrate a customised heat sealing machine. The machine comprises a range of cylinders and solenoid valves and is suitable for a broad range of heat sealing applications. In addition to the purpose built displays, ASCO Numatics will show its pneumatics and motion control product ranges.
CPA Engineered Solutions Ltd - Stand G31
CPA Engineered Solutions manufacture Enershield energy saving air barriers which use an accurate flow of high volume, high speed air to create up to a 90% seal over an opening, creating a “virtual doorway” that people and vehicles can still pass through. By creating an environmental separation, the new technology keeps warm air in and cold air out (or vice-versa) and prevents the transfer of dust, fumes, insects, smoke, and odours.
Steril-Aire high power, high efficiency UVC germicidal emitters are installed in HVAC systems killing up to 99.9% of mould, bacteria and viruses which grow on cooling coils and drip trays. Steril-Aire improves HVAC efficiency and provides constant cleaning increasing indoor air quality, productivity and reducing absenteeism.
Big Ass destratification fans distribute heat from the ceiling back to occupied levels, equalising air temperatures between floor and roof levels and providing up to 30% energy savings.
Sonic Air Systems use low pressure, high volume, high velocity air through precise airknives to shear moisture from a surface leaving it up to 98% dry. CPA offers a genuine, 24/7 response by qualified and experienced engineers. We aim to provide tailored solutions to your production and facility challenges.
Endoline - Stand D30
This year’s PPMA Show will see the launch of a new generation of Tray Erector by end of line machinery specialists Endoline. Designed and built to meet the growing demands from manufacturers for smaller, more compact machinery, the Endoline 511 Tray Erector has been engineered into a vertical format - resulting in a system built to a significantly smaller footprint than original tray erecting machines. With an output speed of up to 30 trays per minute the new Endoline 511 Tray Erector is ideally suited to retail ready packaging applications and can be integrated into a completely automatic line with tray loader/shrink wrapper for a shelf ready transit pack or used as a stand-alone unit for manual tray packing.
Kecol Pumping Systems - Stand E41
Kencol Pumping is a UK leader in the design & manufacture of piston pumps and pumping systems for the transfer of high viscosity products from 200 litre drums, IBC’s, process vessels, planetary mixing vessels and similar containers. The company has new two new items on display at this year’s show. Visitors will able to take a close look at the new “ONE SHOT” System - piston pumps which provide a measured volume of material. Kecol can now offer a system to deliver an accurate dose for filling, batching and other application where a predetermined volume is required. In addition, the Spring Free Air Motor is a new design, featuring improved reciprocating air motors to provide a smoother change of direction. By removing the springs that re-set the pilot valves, Kecol has improved the reliability of the mechanical linkage used to achieve this.
Lock Inspection - Stand A53
On PPMA stand A53, Lock will launch two new metal detection systems to help pharmaceutical manufacturers achieve greater product integrity throughout the entire production process. This first, Lock’s new INSIGHT PH Gravity Fall metal detection system, aims to empower pharmaceutical manufacturers seeking to achieve greater product integrity during the production process. This new in-process system inspects raw materials in powder or granular form for contaminants at a flow rate of up to 3000 kg/hr prior to the tableting process.
A second new offering is Lock’s BottleChek metal detection system, which, with its value-added software for quick product set-ups and a higher level of traceability, provides customers with a unique competitive edge.
Omron Electronics Hall 5, Stand C41
Omron is showcasing integrated automation solutions for the packaging industry, including those for product handling, data integration and 100% product inspection. On the stand will be a demonstration of the recently launched Delta robot system, controlled by the powerful Sysmac NJ Machine Automation Controller. The NJ controller uses EtherCAT as its machine network, with servo drives, inverters, I/O, safety and vision systems all residing on the same network, reducing complexity, increasing response speed and simplifying programming for the user. Also on show will be an example of Omron’s SCARA robot series, highlighting simple conveyor tracking with integrated vision capabilities. Omron now offers complete automation solutions from a single supplier to machine builders in the packaging sector.
Pacepacker - Stand C70
Automation specialist Pacepacker Services will showcase its award winning new tray packing, bagging and palletising solutions at the PPMA Show 2012 on stand C70. The Show debut of Pacepacker’s new FlexaPac system - a patented tray and crate packing solution for delicate netted fruits, vegetables and other foods which achieves throughput in excess of 60 packs per minute and eliminates waste - will demonstrate how this unique automation solution has overcome the traditionally labour intensive and waste prone process of packing netted delicate products into shelf ready cartons, trays and crates.
As a 15 year long FANUC strategic partner, another highlight of the Pacepacker stand is the compact FANUC M-710iC high speed six axis palletising robot with multi-purpose end effector. This versatile palletiser is ideal for manufacturers with limited space and those looking to stack numerous product types, including trays, sacks and crates, without part changeover.
Pacepacker’s Sack Placer and Total Bag Control (TBC) System will conclude this year’s line-up, which accurately seals difficult to handle sacks of bulk products and now offers a variety of optional mobility kits which allows the TBC system to work across multiple production lines.
RA Rodriguez (UK) Ltd - Stand D72
The quality and extent of the R. A. Rodriguez IEF Werner linear motion programme provides the perfect basis for a variety of applications in the processing & packaging sectors. All elements are designed to be freely combined enabling single or multi-axis systems to be created simply and quickly. Also at the PPMA Show 2012 will be the flexible and cost-effective Universal Robot robotic arm; as well as a new model. Both Universal Robot arms are ideal where traditional robots are considered to be too large, expensive, noisy or not sufficiently flexible.
