DuPont helps staff cover up
12 Jun 2013
DuPont has provided coveralls to Severfield Reeve for 16 years in an effort to minimise substance hazard.
Shaun Watson, stores manager at Severfield Reeve, explained: “Our employees are working alongside huge pieces of steel and daily spraying them with paint.”
Paints used in the steel industry contain additives which present significant risks to workers, if they are exposed to the spray. It is vital that employees are protected from these harmful substances,” added Watson.
“At the same time, it is important that the paint process is conducted in an environment free from dust and fibres that may be found in employees’ clothing. Therefore coveralls have a dual purpose, protecting people from exposure to hazardous chemicals at the same time as protecting the process from contamination,” he concluded.
