Robust water monitoring
23 Jul 2013
Through its Bran+Luebbe brand, SPX offers a range of high performance, fully automatic water analysers.
Their robust form makes them suitable for power generation facilities, where they can be used for rapid, accurate monitoring of many diverse parameters to help protect valuable plant machinery.
Silica in boiler feed water can create deposits which impact steam velocity and pressure and in turn negatively affect the capacity and efficiency of the turbine.
Sample results for silica concentration, for example, are obtained in as little as ten minutes and, as the analysers have full network capability, any rise in concentration levels can be immediately notified.
The PowerMon Silikometer continuously monitors the silica levels in the boiler feed water and offers excellent performance with a very low concentration detection limit, down to 0.15ppb.
Overall, SPX PowerMon analysers are designed to help improve plant efficiency. Their low maintenance reduces ongoing costs while their speed and accuracy ensure protection for plant machinery, helping to avoid the need for premature repair work and unplanned maintenance
