Swiss manufacturer wins contracts to supply pumps to vessels in Brazil and Australia.
Sulzer Pumps has won contracts to supply pumps for floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels in both Brazil and Western Australia.
The first deal involves the installation of 42 pumps on two FPSO vessels operating in the Santos Basin off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The order, consisting of pump packages for seawater lift, water injection and auxiliary services, was awarded by Keppel FELS Brasil through its affiliate Lindel Private Limited.
The water injection pump packages contain API 610 BB5 pump models driven by 5.5MW electric motors, while the seawater lift pump packages consist of vertical pumps driven by 960kW submersible electric motors.
Other pumps are used for auxiliary services in FPSO operations such as cooling water circulation, hot water circulation and water injection pump boosting.
The pumps will be manufactured at various locations within the Sulzer Pumps global manufacturing network
Keppel FELS Brasil was awarded the contracts for the fabrication and integration of the two FPSO vessels from Tupi BV, a consortium led by Petrobras.
With this order Sulzer Pumps will have more than 1,300 pumps in service for Petrobras in offshore Brazil. The second order is to supply 69 pumps to Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering for installation on a new FPSO vessel in the Browse Basin off the coast of Western Australia.
Due to be delivered in several phases by mid-2014, the order will be carried out for the INPEX-operated Ichthys LNG Project. Various API 610 pumps including OH3, BB2 and BB5 type pumps will be supplied for topside and hullside process and utility applications aboard the 335m vessel.
The pumps will be manufactured at various locations within the Sulzer Pumps global manufacturing network. Sulzer Pumps South Korea will project manage the installation and complete all unit testing.
Offshore commissioning and servicing of the equipment will be undertaken by Sulzer Pumps’ customer support services based in Western Australia. Sulzer Pumps has won a number of other large orders for FPSO projects worldwide so far this year.
The company has customers in the oil and gas, hydrocarbon processing, power generation, pulp and paper, water and wastewater sectors as well as from specialised areas in the general industry.
