15 Nov 2013
Bosch has opened a single facility in the north of England to consolidate its industrial drives and controls, and heating and hot water solutions subsidiaries.
The £1.2 million facility near Wakefield will combine Bosch Rexroth and Worcester, Bosch Group into a single site that will provide customer service and support to its mechanical engineering customers as well as training to its heating and hot water sector installers.
This facility will provide the training and support programmes, which make a contribution to an individual’s professional skills development

President of Bosch in the UK Peter Fouquet said: “Whether our customer is a mechanical engineer, an installer or an apprentice at the very start of his or her career, this new facility will provide the comprehensive training and support programmes, which make a major contribution to an individual’s professional skills development.”
The firm’s Bosch Rexroth arm will design and manufacture hydraulic systems for the marine, offshore and bulk materials handling sectors at the Wakefield site.
It will also provide both UK and overseas customers with a fully equipped workshop and test site, to service and repair hydraulic equipment, both at the site and in the field.
The facility itself has been designed to meet Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) standards through the installation of a high efficiency boiler, low energy lighting systems and motion sensor taps which reduce water consumption and wastage.
