ARC Advisory Group’s David Humphrey asks whether PLM tools can help Paulaner brew beer.
Can product lifecycle management (PLM) tools be used to brew beer? Not directly, but they are useful in planning, laying out, and simulating the processes in a brewery.
During the Drinktec show in September last year, the world’s largest trade fair for the beverage industry, ARC analysts had the chance to look at plans for a completely new brewery to be built by 500+ year-old Paulaner company in Munich, Germany.
At the brewery’s traditional location in downtown Munich, there is no more room to expand, so Paulaner is pulling up its stakes and will build a brand-new brewery on a site at the western edge of the city.
