Intertek opens UK food testing lab

Intertek has opened a new food laboratory in Derby.
The new lab will offer 24/7 testing and analysis services and support to local, regional and global clients.
It will focus on providing high quality results and quick turnaround times for all microbiological testing requirements.
“We are delighted to be increasing our operations here in the UK where we can provide additional support to our clients within the food industry,” said Intertek UK and Ireland managing director Chetan Parmar.
“Our experts have a wealth of knowledge and experience and can offer practical solutions to customers around the world.”
The Derby facility is part of a global network of laboratories and will work with other Intertek laboratories in the UK and internationally. Intertek claimed the facility’s in-house expertise and analytical resources would provide clients with “the testing, auditing, certification, advisory and training services that they need”.
