Integrated solutions
13 May 2014
Increasing competitive pressures, rising raw material and energy prices, coupled with new, stricter environmental regulations are making the sustainable use of resources a priority issue in the mining, aggregates and cement industries.
As a partner to these industries, Siemens experts will be on hand at the Hillhead exhibition to demonstrate and discuss the Siemens range of end-to-end solutions to help customers meet these challenges, including several new products designed specifically for the sector.
Based on the world’s most consistent and comprehensive product range in the field of drive systems, Siemens Integrated Drive Systems (IDS) are the only true one-stop solution for entire drive trains on the market, the company claims.
Meanwhile, new for Hillhead 2014 will be the Simogear range of geared motors, replacing the long-established Motox range and now directly compatible with standard competitor units.
They will be demonstrated on the Siemens stand (G7) in an IDS package on a conveyor.
Innovations in safety technology will also be available for customers. Siemens will be showcasing the Simatic S7-1500F failsafe programmable controller and STEP 7 Safety Advanced V13 configuration software.
They are all integrated into the Siemens Totally Integrated Automation (TIA) portal.
The 3SK range of safety relays, which come in modular format, will also be shown. This range allows the customer to build complex functional safety systems with integrated motor control.
Siemens will also be demonstrating how significant savings and efficiency improvements can be made using Siemens technology. Experts will be available to discuss Energy Auditing and how Siemens can help improve overall efficiency within your plant.
