Shale gas suppliers team up
21 May 2014
Two environmental services firms currently working with Cuadrilla today announced a joint venture to support UK development of shale gas.
Waste management firm Remsol and environmental monitoring specialist Ground Gas Solutions (GGS) have both worked together across multiple Cuadrilla exploration sites, and are now formalising this partnership to offer their services to other firms.
The joint venture will be primarily aimed at the emerging shale oil & gas development sector, but will also offer services to additional sectors including landfill, energy-from-waste and chemicals.
This partnering shows that there is a well developed SME supply chain in place to support shale gas development

“This is an exciting time for Britain as shale gas is on the cusp of becoming a reality,” said Remsol managing director Lee Petts.
“We are very excited to be in a fantastic position to help service this new market.”
Preston-based Remsol specialise in providing prevention-led waste management services, while Manchester-based Ground-Gas Solutions is an environmental consultancy specialising in continuous ground-gas data capture and analysis. GGS has developed the world’s first in-situ borehole gas monitor able to collect data continuously, called GasClam.
“This partnering shows that there is a well developed SME supply chain in place to support shale gas development and that companies like Remsol and GGS are at the forefront of this,” said GGS managing director Simon Talbot.
The firms’ announcement of a joint venture came two days after Cuadrilla confirmed it was pressing ahead with planning applications for the development of exploration wells at two sites near Blackpool.
