Atlas Copco publishes new ebook guide to cooling systems
11 Mar 2025

Atlas Copco has launched a new downloadable guide for selecting the most appropriate cooling system for plant operations.
Industrial Cooling Technologies: A Guide to Evaporative and Adiabatic Systems examines two of the most common industrial cooling technologies, evaporative cooling towers and adiabatic coolers, with advice on operational efficiency, sustainability reducing water consumption, and bacterial contamination health risks.
Key considerations covered include water management, energy consumption, the risk of Legionella contamination, and the environmental impact of each technology.
Focus areas include energy consumption, operational scale and space availability , examining which technologies work best in different environments.
Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) comparisons are also provided, together with consideration of the risks associated with Legionella bacteria, which can thrive in any cooling systems that are not properly maintained.
Business line manager for process cooling solutions at the company, Chris Ferriday commented: "With process cooling systems, selecting the right technology is essential for ensuring efficiency and safety.
“This guide provides clear, actionable insights that will help people better understand the various cooling technologies available, enabling them to make choices that align with both their operational needs and sustainability objectives."
