BP seeks future leaders in recruitment drive
2 Sep 2014
BP today launched a two-month recruitment drive to hire up to 30 potential new leaders of its global downstream oil & gas businesses.
The company’s 2015 Future Leaders Programme (FLP) aims to fast-track early career recruits to be the business leaders of the future. Candidates around the world are being sought to work in BP’s Refining & Marketing businesses and its Safety & Operational Risk and Information Technology & Services functions.
The FLP lasts a minimum of three years, with participants benefitting from significant mentoring and access to senior BP executives, as well as a real business role and an overseas placement.

To be eligible for the programme applicants must have a postgraduate qualification and at least three years’ professional experience.
“We’re looking for people with a global perspective and the flexibility to work anywhere in the world, in either the technical or commercial tracks of the programme,” said BP group marketing officer Rita Griffin.
“We’re encouraging people to apply irrespective of whether they have experience within the oil and gas sector. We want candidates with an open mind, who have the drive and ambition to be the next generation of leaders within BP.”
Last year, over 4,000 people applied for the programme. Applicants are expected to come from a range of backgrounds, having typically studied STEM (science, technology, engineering or mathematics) subjects to PhD or Masters level and/or an MBA.
Applications must be submitted between 2 September and 31 October 2014. To learn more about the FLP and to apply go to www.bp.com/flp.
